A burrowing owl fills the frame in this close-up portrait, one bright yellow eye fixed on something just out of view. The speckled brown and white feathers against a soft green background make this a warm, gentle puzzle with plenty of detail to enjoy.
About this puzzle
The owl’s head is turned in profile, showing off a piercing yellow eye and a small hooked beak. Every feather on the crown and chest carries its own brown and cream speckle, and the background melts into a smooth wash of spring green.
Burrowing owls are one of the few owls active in daylight. True to their name, they nest underground in old prairie dog and ground squirrel burrows across the open grasslands of the Americas.
How to play
Pick a piece count that suits the challenge you want, then drag pieces with a mouse or a fingertip. Correct pieces snap together and lock in place. You can shuffle the tray or peek at the finished picture anytime, and nothing is timed.
Tips for solving this one
Lock in the yellow eye and beak first, since they are the sharpest points in the picture. Then build the speckled crown and chest by matching spot patterns. Save the smooth green background for last and sort those pieces by shade.
