More puzzles to play
A sea otter lies back in the bright blue water with its paws tucked up under its chin, looking straight down the lens like you’ve just interrupted a very good nap. The dark fur has soaked into a sleek coat and the whiskers catch the light. It’s about as relaxed as an animal gets.
About this puzzle
Sea otters spend almost their whole lives at sea and float on their backs to rest, groom, and even eat. They have the densest fur of any animal, up to a million hairs in a single square inch, and that coat is the only thing keeping them warm, since they don’t carry any blubber.
The otter floats low in the frame, its grizzled grey face and dark eyes turned toward you, body trailing off to the right just under the surface. Water beads on the whiskers and the round little head. The blue around it is deep and even, broken only by white glints of sun and the soft rings spreading out from the otter itself.
How to play
Set your piece count and start dragging, either with a mouse or by touch. Correct pieces click together and stay put. The finished image is there to preview any time, and nothing’s timed.
Tips for solving this one
The face and those tucked up paws are the obvious anchor, so start there and follow the dark body out under the water. The blue looks like one flat shade at first, but it shifts from bright to shadowed, so group those pieces by tone. The pale ripple rings around the otter show you where the nearest water sits.
Common questions
Is it free?
Yes. There’s no charge and no sign up. Pick a puzzle and play.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. It fits phone and tablet screens fine, though that big stretch of blue water is easier to wrangle on a larger display.
Can I change the difficulty?
You choose. A small piece count keeps it quick, while a large one turns all that open water into a real test. Pick before each game.
Will it save my progress?
Progress holds while the tab stays open. Leave the page and you’ll start over next time.
