About this puzzle
Mute swan cygnets spend a lot of their first couple of weeks riding on a parent’s back, tucked up under the wings where it’s warm and out of reach of pike and gulls. They hatch a soft dusty gray and stay that color for months, only turning white as they head into their second year.
In this photo almost the entire frame is white feathers, curving around the cygnet like a bowl. The chick’s gray head sits just off center with its bill resting on the plumage below, and a thin band of black along the top edge is the only thing that isn’t swan.
How to play
