About this puzzle
Haflingers come from the mountains of the Tyrol on the border of Austria and Italy, and every one of them is chestnut with a flaxen mane and tail. Remarkably, the whole breed traces back to a single stallion called Folie, born in 1874, which explains why they all look like siblings.
In this photo the horse’s golden coat and creamy white mane fill the frame, with the red halter adding a splash of color against the muzzle. The pink tongue pokes out at the bottom, and the background is a soft blur of green grass and pale track, keeping every eye on that face.
