About this puzzle
Icelandic horses have been bred in Iceland for more than a thousand years, and the country guards them carefully. No horses can be brought into Iceland, and once an Icelandic horse leaves the island it can never come back. That’s how the breed has stayed so pure, big manes and all.
In this photo the horse’s dark, almost black body sits low in the frame while its pale cream mane streams sideways over the eyes and down the neck. The sky behind is a flat, cloudless blue, so there’s nothing else to look at but that magnificent mess of hair.
How to play
Set how many pieces you want and start dragging, by mouse or by touch. Matching pieces click together and lock. The finished image is a tap away if you need a look, and nothing’s timed.
Tips for solving this one
Build the ears and the nose first, since they’re the only dark shapes at the top of the horse. Then work through the mane, sorting the pale pieces by which direction the hair runs. The dark body fills the bottom. The blue sky is one plain color, so use the edges and the shape of each piece to place it.
