A chestnut Shetland pony with a huge blonde mane is grazing away while her fluffy pinto foal stands pressed against her side, all curls and knobbly knees. The foal’s coat looks like a wool jumper. It’s a lot of cute for such small horses.
About this puzzle
Shetland ponies come from the Shetland Islands off the north of Scotland, where the tough climate shaped a breed that stands no more than 42 inches tall but can pull twice its own weight. Their thick double coats and heavy manes are built for wind and rain, and foals are born extra fluffy to cope.
In this photo the mare’s chestnut coat and pale flaxen mane spill down over her face as she grazes, while the brown and white foal stands beside her with its curly baby coat catching the light. Bright green grass fills the whole background, with a single dandelion near the foal’s front feet.
How to play
Choose a piece count, then move the pieces with a mouse or a fingertip. Pieces that belong together snap and stay. The full picture is there to check whenever you want, and nobody’s timing you.
Tips for solving this one
Build the foal first, since its white curly patches stand out cleanly from everything else. Then do the mare’s blonde mane, which is a distinct texture, and her chestnut body. The grass is the same green all over, so sort those pieces by how sharp or blurred the blades are and fill it in from the edges.
Common questions
Is it free?
Yes. Free to play, no account needed, no payment ever asked for.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. It fits a phone screen, though all that green grass is easier to work through on something bigger.
Can I change the difficulty?
You choose. Set the piece count before each game. Keep it low for a quick solve, or go high and let the grass do its worst.
Will it save my progress?
The puzzle stays where you left it while the tab is open. Close the tab and it starts over.
