About this puzzle
Dalmatian puppies are born pure white. The spots start to appear at around two weeks old and keep filling in for months, and no two dogs ever end up with the same pattern. The breed’s old job was to trot alongside horse drawn carriages, which is how it became the classic firehouse dog.
In this photo the dog’s white coat is scattered with black spots that cluster on the ears and thicken across the chest, and its black nose and lips sit right at the center of the face. The background is a soft, pale gray, so the whole picture is almost black and white apart from those amber eyes.
How to play
Choose a piece count, then move the pieces with a mouse or a fingertip. Pieces that belong together snap and stay. The full picture is there to check whenever you want, and nobody’s timing you.
Tips for solving this one
Start with the eyes and the nose, the only pieces with any color. Then build the face outward and do the two spotted ears. The chest is where the spots are densest, so sort those pieces by spot size. The pale gray background is the last thing to fill in, using the edge pieces as your guide.
