A Pembroke Welsh Corgi is standing right up on its back legs with its front paws tucked in and its tongue out, grinning at the camera like it’s just been told it’s a good dog. It’s a big trick for such short legs, and the pride on that face is wonderful.

About this puzzle

Corgis were bred in Wales to herd cattle, and being low to the ground was the whole point. A dog that short could nip at a cow’s heels and duck under the kick that followed. Welsh legend adds that fairies used to ride them, and the pale saddle shaped marking on a corgi’s back is where the saddle sat.

In this photo the corgi’s red and white coat glows against a soft green blur of trees, with the white chest and paws standing out as it balances on a stone paved path. The big upright ears, the bright eyes and that pink tongue give the picture its cheer.

How to play

Pick your piece count and start dragging, with a mouse or a fingertip. Pieces that fit snap together and hold. The finished picture is always there to preview, and there’s no clock.

Tips for solving this one

Start with the face and the pink tongue, then build the white chest and paws, which are the brightest shapes on the board. The red back and ears come next. The green background is soft and even, so sort those pieces by how yellow or dark they are, and finish with the stone path along the bottom.

Common questions

Is it free?
It is. Every puzzle here costs nothing and needs no account.

Does it work on a phone?
Yes. It fits a phone screen, though the blurred green background is easier to sort on a tablet.

Can I change the difficulty?
Yes. Set the piece count at the start. A high count turns all that soft green into a serious test of patience.

Will it save my progress?
Progress holds while the tab is open. Close it and your next game starts from scratch.
