A Pembroke Welsh Corgi is standing right up on its back legs with its front paws tucked in and its tongue out, grinning at the camera like it’s just been told it’s a good dog. It’s a big trick for such short legs, and the pride on that face is wonderful.
About this puzzle
Corgis were bred in Wales to herd cattle, and being low to the ground was the whole point. A dog that short could nip at a cow’s heels and duck under the kick that followed. Welsh legend adds that fairies used to ride them, and the pale saddle shaped marking on a corgi’s back is where the saddle sat.

How to play

Start with the face and the pink tongue, then build the white chest and paws, which are the brightest shapes on the board. The red back and ears come next. The green background is soft and even, so sort those pieces by how yellow or dark they are, and finish with the stone path along the bottom.
