A rusty gold Vizsla has tipped its head so far to one side that one ear is hanging almost straight down, and it’s staring at the camera with a look of deep concentration. Something confusing has clearly been said, and this dog is going to get to the bottom of it.
About this puzzle
Nobody’s entirely sure why dogs tilt their heads, but the best guess is that it helps them pinpoint where a sound is coming from and lets them see past their own muzzle to read our faces. Dogs with longer noses do it more, and Vizslas, with their long, elegant heads, are champions at it.
In this photo the dog’s short, sleek coat is a warm golden red from nose to shoulder, with amber eyes and a matching liver colored nose. The whole dog is lit from the front against a plain dark gray studio background, so every fold of that tilted face stands out sharply.
How to play

Tips for solving this one
Start with the eyes and nose, then follow the tilt of the head out to the hanging ear. The neck and chest are smooth blocks of golden red that build quickly. The dark gray background has almost no detail, so leave it for last and let the edge pieces and the shape of each piece guide you.
